Town Hall Singers:
An A Cappella Choir for Adults and Teens
Join us starting on Sunday, January 20 (Free introductory
class)
Rehearsal Dates and Times: 2-3 Sundays a month, 2
hours per class, from 6:30 to 8:30PM.
These are the rehearsal dates: 1/27 (offsite), 2/10, 2/24,
3/2(offsite), 3/16, 3/30, 4/6, 4/13(offsite).
Dress Rehearsal: Wednesday, 4/16.
Performance: The performance is scheduled for Friday,
4/18, at 7:30
Participation Fee: The participation fee is $120.00
for 9 rehearsals.
Location: Most rehearsals are at Town Hall Theatre,
Lafayette. A few rehearsals will be at the Lafayette United
Methodist Church (LUMC) in Lafayette, near Town Hall Theatre.
Please note: We have no affliation with the church, we simply
use their space when needed.
Description of Town Hall Singers
Sing rhythmic Bobby McFerrin-style songs with yummy harmonies.
All adults, teens and seniors who can carry a tune are welcome.
There are no auditions to participate. Solos and shared solos
are available by informal audition. Those with limited mobility
will participate in a flexible way.
In a supportive environment:
• Sing better than you thought you could
• Learn body percussion
• Sing easy or challenging parts
• Listen for scale tones and subdivisions of the beat

About the Director: Betsy Blakeslee, M. S. has performed,
composed, and appeared on TV. Her background in music, movement
and psychology, make her an exceptional teacher. She taught
voice at Dominican University, and directed choirs that performed
at the UN Millennial Summit, The State of the World Forum,
and in Bosnia during the war. She trained with the Roy Hart
Theatre in France.
